I had such an amazing experience at this diner! From the moment we walked in, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The menu is huge — honestly a little overwhelming at first — but in the best way, because there’s truly something for everyone. I ended up getting a sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone in my group loved their meals, and we all agreed the food was top-notch. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a spot with great food, great vibes, and a ton of options, this is the place. Can’t wait to come back!

On April 21, 2025 at 6pm, I went with a friend to the Edison Diner in Edison, N.J. Conveniently located off Route 1, the diner has spacious free parking and is perfect for driving. The two of us ordered entrees and drinks for a total cost of about $35, which was reasonably priced. It was during the dinner rush when we arrived, but we only waited 5 minutes before being shown to our window seats. The interior of the restaurant maintains the classic stainless steel look of the Kullman style, and the interior has been refurbished to be clean, bright and vintage with a modern twist. The waiters were very welcoming, offering to introduce us to the specialties and asking us carefully about our dietary preferences. I chose the pancake, which they recommended, and the freshness of the ingredients complemented the drinks with a refreshing flavor. My friend, on the other hand, ordered the chicken sandwich, which was similarly generous in portion size. It's also worth noting that a gluten-free bread option is available, which is very thoughtful. The restaurant also has Trivia Night on Wednesdays, a lively atmosphere that makes it a great place to meet up with friends, and Edison Diner is a prime example of a “Diner Reimagined” restaurant that underwent a complete renovation in the 2000s, retaining the charm of a traditional American diner while enhancing the overall comfort level. The overall dining experience was very pleasant. The overall dining experience was very pleasant, from the service to the food. Especially their freshly squeezed orange juice, which has a natural taste, is a pleasant surprise on top of the meal. This place is not only suitable for family dinners, but also for small gatherings of friends, making it one of Edison's local classic restaurants that can't be missed. I'd like to try more of their goodies next time, and I've heard the omelette and steak are very popular as well.

Great food, good vibes, and my history buff child loved the Thomas Edison theme. You will get your money’s worth with the portions. Our waitress, older lady with dark hair, was wonderful.

Great Spot After Work – Pleasant Surprise at Edison Diner While visiting the Edison, New Jersey area, a coworker recommended we check out the Edison Diner. After wrapping up a half-day of work on a Saturday, we decided to give it a shot. The diner wasn’t overly busy, but it had a steady crowd — a good sign. The staff was incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome right away. The menu is huge, which made me a little cautious (so many options can be hit or miss), but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. We started with the calamari, which was excellent — crispy, well-seasoned, and not overcooked. For my main, I went with the Thai steak salad. While the steak itself wasn’t the highest quality cut, the flavor and the salad underneath really made the dish shine. Prices were in the mid-range ($20–$30), but considering the generous portions, it felt justified. Overall, a solid local spot with friendly service and better-than-expected food. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Edison diner is a staple. We come very often, the last time we were here was on an early Sunday morning, their breakfast is delicious and they give you nice portions. Prices are on the higher end but you won’t leave hungry and it’s quality food. My favorite is the omelette or the Edison breakfast skillet

Really old looking style.diner and l say old looking not classic style as the ones from the 60s, clean and neat, but really démodé. The staff isn't rude but not really welcoming either. The menu is ok but not really much to choose when searching for burgers, l ordered a Mexican one, but lnasked if l could have the veggies, onions, peppers grilled, the server agreed but what l got was a kind of mushy mix of cooked tomatoes and peppers and onions, same as what they serve with the fajitas. The burger came with no cheese, didn't expected it at least the server should have asked, so l told her if l.could have some cheese and she agreed and brought a lil plate with shredded cheese, well, better than nothing. Have to say that the burger patty was really good, tasty and big. Also need to say that portions r big!!. My bf ordered a turkey Burger he said wasn't bad, no cheese either. All in all, not bad, edible but expensive for what it was compared to other diners.

The Edison Diner is an absolute New Jersey classic—serving the community since 1952, and it shows in every detail. • Fruit & Cottage Cheese Platter: Fresh, colorful, and beautifully presented with mango, kiwi, melon, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. A refreshing start! • Breakfast Special: Sunny-side eggs, golden hash browns, sausage, and some of the best bacon around—crispy, smoky, and thick-cut. • Pancakes: Big, fluffy, and cooked to perfection. True diner comfort food at its finest. • Sides: Scrambled eggs and bacon that taste just as good as they look—simple, done right. The vibe is everything you’d want in a diner: warm, bustling, with steaming mugs of coffee and friendly service that feels genuine. Verdict: This isn’t just a diner, it’s a destination worth the trip. Edison Diner proves that comfort classics, when done right, can be just as memorable as fine dining. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Highly recommend!

A little pricey for a diner but the staff was pleasant & waiter was really attentive. They were okay with us setting up balloons to surprise my cousin for her birthday. Those who were not vegan said their food was tasty but I have to take off 2 stars for food category since the menu had such minimal options for vegans. I ordered the teriyaki stir-fry which was okay (7 out of 10) but a little too salty & I'm not a fan of baby corn. It was a large portion that I couldn't finish.
